The Dooars Region is situated exactly on the foothills of Darjeeling. History

The first Tea plantation was set up in the Champta Region of Terai by James White in the year 1862. The one in the Gazalduba came up in the year 1876. The tea plantation region is also known to receive rainfall up to 350 centimeters annually.
